Solution Overview
Consort Digital and Niral Networks will enhance the railway network by deploying 5G-based mission-critical services for the Mathura–Chata corridor under Indian Railways, within the North Central Railway jurisdiction. The Indigenous 5G-based pilot project marks a major step toward validating next-generation, private 5G infrastructure for railway-grade operational communications.
About Project
The project spans a 31-kilometer railway section and establishes a 5G Standalone (SA) network with indigenous RAN and Core infrastructure. The deployment validates high-speed connectivity, ultra-reliable low-latency communication, and MCX-based mission-critical voice, video, and data services over 5G architecture. Designed as a technology demonstrator, the project integrates real-time railway operational use cases and validates seamless communication between trains, stations, and control rooms in live railway conditions.
This project is expected to accelerate the modernization of railway communication systems by enabling a transition from legacy networks to IP-based 5G platforms. By demonstrating mission-critical services over an indigenous 5G environment, the project strengthens operational safety, improves coordination efficiency, and establishes a scalable digital framework for future railway corridors. It also reinforces India’s commitment to building a self-reliant telecom ecosystem for critical infrastructure sectors.
About Deployment
Niral Networks is deploying the Indigenous 5G Core forming the backbone of the Standalone architecture, ensuring secure and reliable private 5G connectivity. Consort Digital will deploy its MCX ONE mission-critical platform, integrated with onboard train radio systems, control room solutions, handheld devices, and fixed communication terminals for railway stations. The deployment enables end-to-end mission-critical voice, video, and data communication over the 5G network, purpose-built for railway operational requirements.
