The transformation of communications systems in rail modernisation programs is of significant interest globally. India currently has some leading examples of such modernisation, including the most recent Nagpur Metro project that follows deployments in Delhi and Mumbai using open standard TETRA technologies. This session will highlight the Nagpur metro project, the evolution of mission-critical based standards and solutions and look at how these may address future rail needs as replacement for GSM-R in India.
